Grič Tunnel

Take a walk through the Grič Tunnel to get a sense of what the citizens of Zagreb underwent during the Allied bombings of WWII.

Spanning across Mesnička Street to Stjepan Radić Street, the Grič Tunnel is a 350m pedestrian tunnel under the neighborhood of Grič, in Zagreb. Built in 1943 as a bomb shelter for the public during World War II, it was left abandoned and in disarray until 2016, where plans for the remodeling and revamping of this tunnel began. The tunnel is open from 9am to 9pm daily, for visitors to experience and venture back in time.
