Giza, Egypt
Grand Egyptian Museum

Known as the largest archaeological museum in the entire world!

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), otherwise known as the Giza Museum, houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts, and you might just think that you stepped foot into an ancient Egyptian temple after seeing the vast displays of relics and items on display. It is still under construction and is expected to have a partial opening this year, with one of the most exciting displays being that of the boy king Tutankhamun’s collection. These have never been shown to the public before, so a visit here will give you exclusive insight. But besides plain old exhibits, the museum will be making use of various technologies to create a truly immersive experience for everyone! Virtual reality will be a key enabler, and visitors will be able to immerse themselves in ancient Egyptian civillisation with every step you take. Those with children will be delighted to know that there is a children’s museum as well, which should be more child-friendly than looking at grotesque mummies on display. With over 50,000 artefacts expected to be on display, it will definitely be easy to spend hours in this wonderful museum just poring through everything. The best part is that other artefacts will also be shifted and centralised in this particular museum, making it your one-stop destination for all things ancient Egyptian!
