Alpine athletes pay close attention to this one. Part of the Mont Blanc massif in Chamonix, France, the Grand Capucin is the ultimate spot for fans of mountaineering. The red granite formation has a novel shape, and at a staggering height of 3383m, this is not for the faint at heart.


The climbing routes on this rock/mountain are very challenging, hence, ensure that you are physically fit before attempting them. While a few different routes exist, it is the Bonatti route that makes expert climbers rub their hands in anticipation and perhaps glee, as it requires vertical climbing.
