The Gran Vía, also known as the Spanish Broadwayby, is a shopping street located in central Madrid. Drawing similarities to the famous Broadway Street in New York City, it is also one of the most famous streets in Madrid. Like many other shopping areas, Gran Vía offers visitors a place to shop and eat, with a variety of hotels and large movie theatres also available.

However, what is distinct about this street is the historical architecture of the buildings. Amongst the more interesting buildings are the Edificio Metrópolis and the Telefónica Building. Also, it would be wise to look up when walking along the street, as the lavish rooftops and majestic statues offer a feast for the eyes.
