A rich monumental palace situated in Verona, Italy!

The Gran Guardia Palace is a magnificent monument located in Verona, Italy. It stands behind the town walls and was built in two distinct historical periods, with its beautiful standing out the most. The first part of its construction commenced in the first half of the 17th century. It was done in the Baroque style and was designed simply to counterbalance the arena. It was due to a shortage of funds that the process was disrupted and was only completed two centuries later in 1836. The edifice of the monument was built initially for military purposes where troops could be reviewed underneath the building’s porch on rainy occasions. The palace was recently refurbished and today stands as a significant centre for exhibitions, fairs and other mass gatherings, while the interior is occasionally open for the public to visit.
