Government House
A government building that provides good views on the inside and out.
A local historic site which was constructed between 1837 to 1843, the Government House was the official residence of the Governor of New South Wales since Sir George Gipps. Today, it continues to host royal visitors, vice-regal and charitable events. The Government House is a grand display of Gothic Revival style architecture, and visitors are also welcome to admire the restored majestic interiors, such as the hand painted stencil ceilings and other original furniture. The lovely landscaped garden on the outside features great views of the harbour as well.
