Golden Gate Bridge

The most photographed bridge in the world.

Coined as "the most beautiful, and certainly the most photographed bridge in the world", the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is definitely not one to be missed. A suspension bridge spanning 1.6km across San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean, it is a popular tourist hotspot and the gleaming icon of San Francisco. Interestingly, it remained the longest suspension bridge to be built until 1964 and was known to be one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Whether you're passing by on a car, or happen to chance upon the bridge on your stroll, stop, admire and take a photograph - it'll certainly make for a good keepsake. Besides that, the Golden Gate Bridge is also a favourite destination for Hollywood productions' filming, so you might just catch yourself making a cameo appearance in a movie if there was filming on the day that you visited.

Tips Before You Go
It might be better to just take the hop on hop off bus tour instead of trying to walk or cycle across. There is a steep incline, and as such, you might be completely fatigued before you can even reach the halfway point of the bridge. Bring a jacket as well as the sea breeze is rather chilly.
