Giola Pool

Take a refreshing dip in the ‘Tear of Aphrodite’, created by the Greek god Zeus.

Celebrated by the locals as a wonderful gift from the Gods, legend has it that Zeus made the Giola Pool for Aphrodite to swim in. A natural stone lagoon carved out of rocks which is about 10m wide and 3m in depth, the Giola Pool is separated from the adjacent Aegean Sea by a narrow strip of rock wall. As a result, the water in the lagoon is much warmer than the seawater, which makes it perfect for swimming and diving. A very unique water reservoir, the water in the pool is constantly refreshed by the incoming waves of the Aegean Sea which makes swimming an awesome experience. Sunbathe on the rocks next to the pool or simply soak in the breathtaking beauty of Mother Nature which surrounds you and appreciate this precious gift from Zeus.
