Giant Forest

Size does matter when it comes to this forest.

Home to approximately 50% of the world’s biggest and oldest trees, this forest is equally fascinating as it is intimidating. Nestled within the Sequoia National Park, the Giant Forest is where the world’s biggest tree resides. Named General Sherman, this tree is over 2000 years old and over 275 feet tall, making even the biggest of bodybuilders feel insignificant in comparison. There are over 8000 Giant Sequoias for your viewing pleasure, and can be seen up close by following the convenient trails, such as the Big Trees trail or the General Sherman Tree trail. If you can find your way to Log Meadow, you can see the home that Hale Tharp, the first white male to enter the forest, made out of a hollow sequoia log!
