GhostBusters Firestation

If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call?

Mention Firehouse, Hook & Ladder Company 8, and people might look at you in confusion. But mention the Ghostbusters Firehouse, and it will immediately strike a chord with visitors. This iconic firehouse got its unofficial name from Ghostbusters (1984), a supernatural comedy film. What people might not know is that this is an actual firehouse, and the firefighters of this firehouse were amongst the first responders during the 9/11 attacks.

While the exterior of the firehouse is familiar especially to avid fans of Ghostbusters, the interior scenes of the movie were actually not shot here, but at a Los Angeles film studio, in a decommissioned Los Angeles firehouse. However, there are photos of the cast inside the firehouse and a painting of the Ghostbusters-inspired badge on the outside.
