Showcasing Spain’s biggest collection of minerals and fossils.

The Museo Geominero (Geomineral Museum) is a museum dedicated to preserving, researching, and spreading the wealth and diversity of the geological and mining heritage. Located in the Spanish Geology and Mining Institute building in Madrid, this museum exhibits a collection of minerals, rocks, and fossils from the various Spanish regions, the former colonies, as well as different parts of the world. There is a total of 8,000 mineral specimens displayed here, which include flora, ores and organic rocks, in addition to fossils of vertebrates and invertebrates. During weekends and public holidays, this museum also holds educational workshops for visitors young and old.
