Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park

This is an unforgettable culture park.

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, also known as the GWK, is a well-known cultural park devoted to the Hindu God, Vishnu, and his mount, the mythical bird, Garuda. Discover the intricacies of culture right here at this park. Head to the Garuda Plaza, which is the focal point for a wide corridor of carved limestone pillars which cover the Lotus Pond area. A walk through this area, despite its deceiving name, does not lead you to a pond of lotuses, but it does feel like being transported to a whole other world nonetheless. The vast blue skies spread over you, and the spaciousness will leave you wandering the area to enjoy the atmosphere.

The head of Garuda is on display, a massive statute that has been intricately carved and leaves you breathless at the sight. Plaza Wisnu, a holy site, holds the statue of Lord Vishnu, and it’s truly an impressive sight. It is surrounded by trickling fountains and smaller statues. Drop by the amphitheater for riveting performances, accompanied by live Balinese gamelan music in the background. Don’t miss out on this iconic destination while in Bali!
