Galleria Alberto Sordi

A shopping haven in the heart of Rome.

Named after Italian actor Alberto Sordi, the former Galleria Colonna is a shopping arcade right in the heart of Rome. The building was featured in an Alberto Sordi film, Polvere di stelle, and was renamed after the actor’s death in 2003. Its stained glass ceilings make for a lovely sight when the afternoon sunlight hits it, allowing bursts of filtered light to stream through in the shopping haven below. The building is also one of the last few examples of early 1900s Italian architecture, but inside lies a variety of modern stores such as Calvin Klein Jeans, Furla, and Massimo Dutti. The popular toystore, Imaginarium, can also be found here, with its wide variety of wide costumes and toys of every design. Regardless of your age, the shop’s many wondrous products will definitely transport you into a carefree world of play! So, shop to your heart’s content, but don’t forget to stop and admire the fine architecture that this building is made of.
