Hidden in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre Shopping Centre is a chance to step into another world.
The Petronas Gallery is located within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre shopping centre and is a worthwhile break from all the shopping available. The gallery showcases the works of famous and up-and-coming Malaysian artists who hark back to their roots and the history that binds the people of the country.
Like most galleries, the place is peaceful and still. Tucked away on the third floor from the main area that is thronged with crowds, it maintains an air of quiet detachment. Indeed, the gallery’s design was commissioned by Robert Gaukroger, who believed that the gallery should encompass a simple, multifunctional space that allowed for a proper display of art pieces. Inside, you’ll find wonderful art that showcases some of the best known and unknown talent that the country has to offer. The exhibitions are changed frequently, though not entirely regularly. If you’re an art lover, it’s a great place to swing by as you do your shopping to get a little recharge before you continue on your spending spree. Take your time; the gallery may not be large but it can be full of enchanting things.
