Fryderyk Chopin Museum

A museum in Poland dedicated to composer Frederic Chopin.

The Fryderyk Chopin Museum is situated in Warsaw, Poland and was officially opened in 1954. It was built to commemorate the famed Polish composer Frederic Chopin and it houses two main branches - the Birthplace of Frederic Chopin at Zelazowa Rola and Chopin Family Parlor on Krakowskie Przedmiescie, Warsaw. Most recently, the museum was refurbished for the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth in 2010, and it remains one of the most modern of its kind in the country, housing five levels of exhibition space in 15 separate rooms. It displays the rich history and works of Chopin, as well as artefacts which include his original manuscripts, handwritten documents, photographs and sculptures of himself. It also hosts piano recitals and competitions of his works. Regardless of whether you’re a fan of Chopin or not, this museum is sure to give you a tantalising glimpse into the life and times of one of musical history’s greats.
