Fragrant Hills Park (香山公园)

A sea of red in Autumn.

A gust of wind engulfs the city in a sea of ruby, covering the streets in a sheet of majestic beauty. Every autumn, Fragrant Hills Park is packed with tourists who flock to the park in admiration of the maple leaves that dye its many trees bright red. There is a cable-car ride that takes visitors from the north gate to the peak of the hill, where one can take in the full autumnal view that Fragrant Hills Park has to offer. The park is filled with apricot blossoms whose scent lends the park its name. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall can also be found within the park, inside the Temple of Azure Clouds. A bust of China's first president sits across the entrance alongside an empty glass coffin that was gifted to the nation by the USSR after the president’s death in 1925.
