Four Corners Monument

Do you believe in magic?

If you've ever fancied the thought of being in many places at once, get ready to fulfill that dream! Here at the Four Corners Monument, you can be in four different U.S. states at once! So how's that even possible? While teleportation remains an element of science fiction, the quadripoint is not. This fascinating term is used to describe a point on Earth that touches the border of four distinct territories. In the case of the Four Corners Monument, it celebrates this phenomenon with a distinct square-shaped marking on the ground, separating the angles that are pointed in the direction of each state.

Make your way to the very center, where Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico are marked out on the small, bronze disk. And then it's time to show off your flexibility as you readjust your limbs to settle on all these four states (and don't worry, you definitely wouldn't be the first to do that). This marker was actually preceded by a more unassuming cement pad in the early 20th century. It was then refurbished eight decades later to become the granite monument you see today. So, while you're exploring the area, be sure to drop by here and make your mark!
