Forsfjorden

A deep blue fjord in the midst of Lofoten islands.

Lofoten is known for its extensive range of natural attractions such as the northern lights and the midnight sun, along with its waters being seen as one of the most ideal locations in the world for fishing. But lesser known to the world is the tranquil Forsfjorden, which is hidden amongst this renowned archipelago. For those wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Forsfjorden is the perfect destination. The fjord will calm your mind and blow you away with the magnificence of Mother Nature, especially if you’re so used to the city sights and feel jaded by the manmade structures that surround you everywhere.

Although finding your way along the fjord’s boulder might be a little tricky for beginners, the view you get at the end of the day is worth all the effort. You can expect to see crystal clear waters that are sometimes tinged with an unrealistic blue hue at certain angles, and smooth water surfaces that glitter when the sun’s rays are reflected on them. The deep blue waters are not all that you’ll see over here however. The fjord is surrounded by tall and steep cliffs that make a magnificent sight for nature lovers. We guarantee that you will be worry free the moment you take in the beauty of the fjord!

Tips Before You Go
Do check out the weather forecast beforehand, because the trail leading to the fjord will remain slippery for some time after it rains. This could be extremely dangerous, especially for those travelling with the elderly or young children. Just take note that you won’t be able to see the midnight sun and the northern lights at the same time. After all, they take place during two completely different seasons.
