Fiordo Di Furore

Fancy a trip to Italy’s only fjord?

The Fiordo di Furore is a delightful fjord in the town of Furore, which is often called “the district that doesn’t exist”. This curious name comes from its unique location, which made it a true natural fortress. It was not visible to those who came from the sea, and hid its inhabitants well. The fjord is a beautiful recess of the sea, found as one makes their way out of an overhanging valley. It’s no wonder that it was ideal for bandits to hide, in the small crack in the rocks.

As you enter the fjord, you too might wish to hide away in this perfect corner, away from the hubbub that you have left far behind. Dive into the spectacular waters at the calm beach at the fjord and let the tension seep out of your shoulders as you relax here. You can even attempt diving here, from the stairway from the bridge to the beach, and if you’re experienced (and a daredevil), from the bridge itself! This lovely fjord is not to be missed, among the other gems found along the Amalfi Coast!
