Ever wanted to step into a submarine?
For most, our first impressions of submarines are formed in childhood (the curious machine that traverses the sea, with a sneaky telescope-like structure that peeks out above the waters it’s submerged in), and made concrete in images as we grow older. Now, if you’ve ever desired to find out exactly what these ever-popular submarines are like, here’s an opportunity you simply can’t let pass by!

With 1947 came the Paris Peace Treaty, effectively ruling out functional submarines in Finland, and Vesikko is the last of her sisters who were scrapped. Saved by donations from her former crewmen and business firms from the same tragic fate, the Vesikko was moved to Suomenlinna (the dock which all the submarines used when they were in operation) and restored to her former glory. Today, you can make your way into the submarine - ironically resting on land, by the sea - and imagine the lives of the crewmen who shared the cramped space, working the submarine meters below the surface. So, what are you waiting for?
