One of the most elegant Renaissance palaces of Rome, the Palazzo Farnese was established in 1514 by Antonio Sangallo. With a few rooms showcasing marvelous artworks, the biggest gem is the fresco of The Loves of the Gods or Amori degli Dei in the Farnese Gallery by the Bolognese painter, Annibale Carracci. Delight your eyes on the Hercules cycle in the Sala d'Ercole (Hercules Room) and discover the wonderful atrium of Sangallo. Be captivated by the palace's beautiful garden and the twin fountains in the square outside, which are actually huge granite baths taken from the Terme di Caracalla. Currently serving as the French embassy of Italy, consider booking a tour to avoid disappointment!
