Fallen Leaf Lake

Fall in love with the Fallen Leaf Lake.

Surrounded by mountains and just a mile south of the well-known Lake Tahoe lies the Fallen Leaf Lake. The oval-shaped lake about 4.6 km long and 1.4km wide resides in El Dorado County, California, and is a great place for a family day out. Park at the carpark near the south side of the lake, and spend your day kayaking, riding a paddle boat, or surfing on a paddleboard in the calm, pristine lake. While its average depth is about 72m, the deepest part goes as far as 125m deep.

One can also engage in some trout fishing and perhaps reap what they have sowed for dinner. After a day in the water, you can fill up those hungry tummies by packing your own picnic, or if that is too much of a chore, head to the café near the car park for some scrumptious burgers and dessert!
