Buenos Aires, Argentina
Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti

Celebrate one of Argentina’s beloved passions here.

The River Plate Stadium is Argentina’s largest, and home to the country’s national football team. No football fan will be a stranger to the grandeur of this stadium, inaugurated in 1938. The stadium bore witness to the 1978 World Cup, and hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires.

Although the original construction was halted at the north end, it was resumed and remodeled for the 1978 World Cup. In addition to football matches, the Monumental is the prime location for international artists to hold their concerts, with the likes of The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Paul McCartney being just a few of the many. A visit to this legendary symbol of football’s collective past, present and future, and now one of the world’s greatest footballing arenas is a must.
