Eretz Israel Museum

A historical and archaeological showcase in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The Eretz Israel Museum is a historical and archaeological museum located in the Ramat Aviv district of Tel Aviv, Israel. It was officially opened in 1953 and today prides itself on its wide array of archaeological, historical and scientific displays and exhibits arranged in several exhibition pavilions, with each specialising in a different subject. These include glassware, copper, coins and ceramic. The Midianite temple pavilion for example, features Egyptian artefacts like temple models and copper snakes while the Nechushtan pavilion is a reconstructed mine from the Chalcolithic period and Late Bronze Age, featuring several smelting furnaces, giving visitors a glimpse into how mining was carried out back in those days. The philatelic wing of the museum displays valuable and rare stamps and tells the tale of the postal service in Israel from the mid-15th century until the 1900s. Come by the museum and be fascinated with the rich stories of Israel it offers!

Tips Before You Go
It would seem that this museum has almost everything, including a planetarium! However, do take note that the planetarium is in Hebrew only, so you might want to brush up on your Hebrew before going inside. Sadly, there are no audio guides in this museum, but the descriptions next to the exhibits are detailed enough. This might not fully satisfy your curiosity though, but the historicity of the exhibits might be able to do a better job.
