Epcot

A delightful celebration of mankind (and more).

Epcot was the second of the four theme parks built at Walt Disney World, and it celebrates human achievement in technological development and international culture. The park has two main sections, the first being the “Future World”, and the “World Showcase”, which has 11 themed world nations. The iconic geodesic sphere, otherwise known as the Spaceship Earth, is the iconic globe that you definitely won’t miss as you enter the park. If you’re curious, yes, Epcot is indeed a fascinating acronym: Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

At the World Showcase, you can discover pavilions dedicated to various nations like the United States and Japan. The timber frame houses and biergarten typical of German are all just a little of what you can discover at the World Showcase. Your kids will be delighted to meet Snow White by the wishing well in Germany, and Mulan in all her warrior glory in China. If you look hard enough, you might find Belle going about her day in France! Of course, we can’t forget the actual attractions: Spaceship Earth takes you through the evolution of human communication, with an engaging story that is sure to have you gripping the edge of your seat. End your day at Epcot with IllumiNations, possibly the greatest fireworks show you will ever see. Encompassing the history of mankind, humanity and hopes for the future, the pleasing soundtrack in the background will have you frozen in place as you take in the breathtaking flashes of color.
