Emirgan Park
A floral explosion of colors.
The Emirgan Park is any horticulturist's dream, dispersing Istanbul's grey winter days and replacing it with brilliant hues of every color in the form of 11 million tulips. What was considered a flower of wealth and perfection for the Ottoman elites, the tulip has grown to become a national symbol. The annual Tulip Festival typically starts in the first week of April, usually lasting the whole month, and Emirgan Park is one of the best places in the city to enjoy the myriad of colors, and if you are lucky, you might even chance upon both black and white swans! The Emirgan Park is on the European side of Istanbul and is a popular spot for wedding photos, family fun, or just good old relaxation.
