A landmark of Guilin offering not just spectacular sceneries but also ancient wonders such as Pagodas and Temples.
A famous tourist site ever since the Tang Dynasty, visitors will not leave Xiangbishan disappointed. The photogenic hill resembles a massive elephant drinking water from a river, while the Water Moon Cave, which is situated between the elephant's legs and trunk, looks absolutely incredible when it is reflected like a brilliant moon in the waters. A river flows through this cave, where more than 50 inscriptions can be seen on the walls. Interestingly enough, the earliest one is said to originate from the Song Dynasty.
Another cave by the hillside is said to resemble the ‘eyes' of the elephant. Do not miss the stunning ‘Legend of Elephant Hill', which is a night show that uses the body of the hill as a projection screen. Marvel at the use of lasers and hypermedia to bring the four sections of the show: Primitive Guilin, Mysterious Village, Phantom Theatre, and Legend of God Elephant, alive. It would seem that this site has a lot more to offer than just ancient buildings and wonderful scenery.
