El Badi Palace

A once stunning palace whose ruins still leave visitors awestruck of what used to be standing proudly in its place.

The magnificent ruins are all that’s left of El Badi Palace, a name which translates to “The Incomparable”, but are more than enough to point to the palace’s former glory. Once an opulent structure filled with the most luxurious furnishings and decorations, this 500-year-old palace has since fallen into a miserable state of disrepair.

Historians estimate that at its peak, the palace contained more than 360 rooms exuding opulence, all lavishly decorated with the Italian marble, cedar wood, gold and other fine materials. As you walk along its empty corridors, an air of its former grandeur still haunts the palace in its immense size and emptiness, allowing you to imagine what it must have been like when it was just built.

An unfathomable beauty of its time, this magnificent structure was truly the envy of all and should not be missed.
