Eikandō Zenrinji is the head temple of the Seizan branch of Jōdo Buddhism. Conveniently situated in between the Path of Philosophers and the Nanzen-Ji Temple, this temple consists of buildings connected by covered walkways and staircases. Explore the grounds and see the Shaka-dō and the rock garden, the Goe-dō, and the Amida-dō, where the temple’s main statue of Buddha is housed. Visitors should not miss out on the Tahōtō Pagoda as well, located on the hillside above the temple.
