An architectural feat of its time – the Eiffel Tower is Europe’s most iconic and well-known landmark.
"The Eiffel Tower, La Tour Eiffel in French, was built in 1889 for the Universal Exhibition. Designed by French civil engineer, Gustave Eiffel, the tower was constructed to commemorate the centennial of the French Revolution, and was the main exhibit of the Paris Exposition or World's Fair. Standing at 300 meters high, one can enjoy the 360-degree views over Paris city. The structure took more than two years to complete, and was constructed with 12,000 iron pieces and seven million nails, with each iron piece shaped according to its specific requirements.
The highest monument in the world for more than 40 years and the symbol of the City of Light, the Eiffel Tower has seen more than 250 million visits since its construction and remains the most visited monument globally today. Head 276 metres up to the top of the tower, and enjoy a glass of champagne at the bar. Take in the sights and the breeze high up where the hustle and bustle of pedestrians at ground level cannot get to you. A truly magical experience, both indoors and out in the open air, a visit to the Eiffel Tower is truly an iconic and unforgettable experience.
