Dongdaemun Design Plaza

The most Instagrammable location in Korea in 2015!

The Dongdaemun Design Plaza is the most recent and iconic landmark in Korea’s design industry. It is situated at the centre of the Dongdaemun sector and remains a significant location for design shows, conferences and other major events. The building was conceptualised by world famous architect Zaha Hadid and it comprises five halls: The Design Lab, Design Market, Dongdaemun History and Cultural Park, Museum and Art Hall. The History and Cultural Park is the newest in downtown Seoul and gives visitors some idea of how the area was once used as a military training area in the Joseon dynasty. Interestingly, the Design Plaza was in the New York Times’ Top 52 places to visit in 2015 and in that same year, was the most tagged location on Instagram within Korea. It was also the filming set location for the SBS drama ‘You Who Came from the Stars’ and other serials including ‘Producer’ and ‘She Was Pretty’.
