Dolores Park

Something for everyone, even your dog.

With its lush green lawns and tall palm trees, Dolores Park in San Francisco intends to stay picturesque, having been declared as a “Leave No Trace” city park. This 16-acre beauty promotes the ethics of conservation. With its soccer field, basketball court, tennis courts and playground, this is a great place for the entire family to break a sweat. That includes your family dog, who can experience the park without fear in any of the two off-leash dog play areas. Climb up the hills in the park to take in a scenic view of San Francisco’s skyline, while you’re at it, why not enjoy a scrumptious picnic?

Not just an area for recreation, this park has a rather fascinating history. It lies on what used to be a Jewish Cemetery, and after it became a park in 1905, it altruistically served as a refugee camp in 1906, when people lost their homes after an earthquake and fire. Attend one of the many cultural events, or simply come for a jog with Fido at Dolores Park.
