Dolby Theatre

Soak in the shine of the stars at this famed theatre.

The Dolby Theatre is a live-performance auditorium, sitting amongst some of Hollywood’s greatest locations. Designed by David Rockwell, visitors step through the massive portal that is the entrance to the theatre, and follow the backlit glass plaques for each Best Picture Oscar winner, leading to a grand staircase.

The five-level theatre lobby with its spiral staircase may remind you of Michelangelo’s Campodiglio in Rome and European opera houses, both of which have inspired the design. Gaze at the marvelous images of Oscar winners such as Julia Roberts and Jack Nicholson and head to the breathtaking audience chamber to gaze at the proscenium and eye-catching upholstery. Every year since its start, the famed Oscars (Academy Awards) have been held here, and the star-studded event is one of the many televised theatrical performances held here, including live shows of America’s Got Talent since 2016. Various touring Broadway productions have been held here, and the theatre has hosted artists such as Alicia Keys, Celine Dion and Prince! A visit to the Dolby Theatre will not disappoint.
