DierenPark Amersfoort

An extensive zoo where animals from all over the world congregate.

More commonly referred to as Amersfoort Zoo, DierenPark is a zoo like no other. Located on the outskirts of the city of Amersfoort, DierenPark is home to both dinosaurs and modern-day animals, as well as to a variety of unique attractions that cannot be found elsewhere. The dinosaur forest offers a Jurassic Park-esque experience where you can enjoy the thrill of seeing life-sized dinosaurs up close without the perils of becoming dinosaur fodder. Meanwhile, to experience nature in its wilder form, you can take a pedal boat on an expedition through the snaking river and visit the monkey island, or traverse the exciting Alles-route adventure course that winds above, below, and about a myriad of animals. As with any other zoos, you can try your hand at feeding a wide range of animals, but it is only at DierenPark where you can get to pet some of the more outlandish species, such as the tarantula, the cockroach, and the rat snake. As one of the few zoos where you can interact and walk with animals at close range, DierenPark is heaven for animal lovers.
