Hunters who were lucky enough to catch sight of the she-devil would be so besotted with her that they would meet an untimely death in their pursuit. When Diavolezza’s own beloved went missing, she wailed his death until she finally left the mountain.

Now replaced by a cosy ski resort, Diavolezza remains a hotly-pursued attraction all year round.
