Diamond Head State Monument

A literal gem in Oahu?

If you’re a hiking enthusiast, and you happen to be in Oahu, then we know just the right place for you. The Diamond Head Trail is one of the most popular hiking trails here, and for good reason. While the climb looks daunting, is definitely worth the stunning panorama that opens up at the summit.

Now, what exactly is the Diamond Head Crater? Well, it is a volcanic landmark, with glinting stones found at the top of the crater. (don’t worry, the volcano’s dormant). Well, a closer look will assure you that there are no actual diamonds to be found. British sailors who had picked up the stones called them “diamonds” anyway. The kind of glorious gem you might enjoy is the turquoise blue of the sea spreading out beyond the crater, shadowed by fluffy white clouds. Cycle along the trails to feel the wind whipping past you, and stop by to enjoy a jaw-dropping outlook of Waikiki Beach.
