Dent du Géant (Giant’s Tooth)

Resembling a giant’s tooth, the Dent du Géant is an awesome sight to behold.

A pointed peak which looks like the sharp fang of a giant from afar, the Dent du Géant rises to a majestic height of 4013m in the Mont Blanc massif. From the Torino Hut which is accessible via a cable car from Chamonix, the ascent takes about one day. Of moderate difficulty, the route is equipped with fixed rope which can be useful handholds, though it is also possible to challenge yourself with a more difficult option of climbing the route freely. With the route being partly exposed, climbers need to be comfortable in such tricky terrains.

As you scale the mountains, look out for the rosy sunset that embraces the surrounding mountains, providing warm comfort to climbers all around. The hard work is well-worth it for the stunning views at the peak. Gaze upon the breath-taking snow-capped mountains before you, particularly the astounding Rochefort Arête, which is arguably the most gorgeous snow arête in the Alps.
