Previously known as the Palace of Communication, Palacio de Cibeles opened its doors in 1919 as the headquarters of Spanish postal and telecommunications services, and was listed as a heritage site in 1993. Fortunate enough to survive the bombings during Spain's Civil War, the palace now seats the Madrid City Council. A 18th-century fountain greets visitors that walk into the white palace, where dinner and drinks can be enjoyed with a picturesque view of Madrid on the 8th floor of the building.
