A majestic historic landmark.
A majestic historic landmark, the Customs House in Sydney was built in the mid 19th-century and is a stark reminder of Australia's trading past and present. Built in the heart of Sydney's Cicular Quay, the Customs House signifies the importance of trade to the colonies, and was responsible for all imports and exports entering and leaving the colonies respectively.
Now, the Customs House is home to the incredibly chic Customs House Library and several other local businesses today, having been coverted to a cultural heritage site after 145 years of functioning as an authority on shipping activity. You'll find much of the structure still intact and the interiors are largely reserved public and exhibition spaces. On the ground floor, you can also view a great scale model of Sydney’s city centre through a glass floor. The stylish restaurant Café Sydney sits on level five, boasting superb views as you wine and dine.
