Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park

Verdant greenery in the city.

Located right next to where the Curtis Hixon Hall once stood, the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is a public park that runs along the length of the Hillsborough River in Tampa. If you need a breather from your hectic schedule, then head down here for a day of relaxation and fun.

With grassy lawns that cover an ample distance and the gentle flow of the river, the park couldn’t be a more perfect place to enjoy a scenic stroll. You can tighten your jogging shoes and follow the trails across the park, or sit at the impressive playground to watch the tots play. Sculptures dot the garden, along with an amphitheater and shaded pavilions perfect for a scrumptious picnic. Be mesmerized by the interactive fountains, the Louver Fountain and the Mist Fountain, both of which are delightful to see. If your adorable canine companion is following you on this trip, then you can take them for a walk while keeping an eye out for one of the many festivals and events celebrated here. It’ll be a walk to remember.
