Croatian National Theatre

Appreciators of art, music, drama, or even just beauty will love this theatre.

The Croatian National Theatre, often referred to as the HNK Zagreb, is a combination of a theatre, opera, and ballet house, all under one roof. Though a stripped down version had opened in the mid-1800s in a different location, the theatre as it exists today was unveiled in 1895, inaugurated by Austro-Hungarian emperor Franz Joseph.

Located at ‎15 Republic of Croatia Square, this building was inspired by the neo-Baroque style of architecture and is as artistic on the outside as it is within. Even the handrails for the steps are adorned with mini swans. With performances such as the operatic masterpiece "The Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart, the thespian in you will bow down to the wonder that is the HNK Zagreb.
