An urban national park with spectacular views over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Crissy Field was once an airfield, but has since become a national park popular with locals and visitors alike due to its location and its views over the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. A plethora of activities await those that come here. For instance, the beach is a popular place for people to engage in water activities, which includes surfing underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Picnicking is also a popular activity amongst families, as is jogging and cycling.


A newly restored wetland is also one of the special features here. Visitors can hike through a boardwalk across the marsh and see the birds and fishes native to this area. Besides that, there is a café nearby that provides refreshments for those who just want to sit back and watch the world go by. With so much to do at Crissy Field, there’s bound to be something that piques your interest.

Tips Before You Go
This is one of the few places where dogs can be off-leash, so don’t be surprised to see lots of dog owners walking with their canine friends. If you wish to get the best views (and the best photographs), then come early in the morning, just as the sun is rising. The sight of the Golden Gate Bridge at dawn is sure to leave you in awe.
