Paradise in the form of a park.
If you look up “tranquility” in the dictionary, you might be met with an image of this attraction. Cornwall Park in Auckland makes any ordinary garden pale in comparison with the former. Covering an extensive area of 670 acres, this park is comprises two independent parks actually. Originally meant to be where Sir John Logan Campbell would have his house built, he eventually resided elsewhere and had this plot of land donated to the Cornwall Park Trust. Today, the park is still under the ownership of the same board.
Whether you jog along one of the trails, enjoy the vibrant flowers in the garden or simply grill up some grub at one of the barbeque pits, this park has it all. This park is great for bird watching and you can spot some adorable species such as fantails and paradise shelducks. As if this garden is not perfect enough, the Acacia Cottage, Auckland’s oldest wooden building, completes the image of the quintessential countryside.
Make your way down to Cornwall Park and you are guaranteed a day of peace and relaxation with your entire family.
