Confucius Temple (北京孔廟)

A lesson that you will never forget.

“Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” These are the famous words of Confucius who is perhaps the best known Chinese philosopher, born around 550 BC. Millenniums later and his teachings are still being spread throughout the world. The Confucius Temple in Beijing is the second largest one in China, second to the Confucius Temple in his hometown, Qufu. While it used to be a place for scholars and intellectuals to offer their respects to the great teacher, it is now a museum exhibiting antiquities, from stone carvings to ancient musical instruments.
