Cliffs of Keri

The Cliffs of Keri: Where sunlight dances to the rhythm of the ocean.

Towering at 300m above the lapping waves of the Ionian Sea are the cliffs of Keri. From the rocky outcroppings, you should be able to make out the “Large and Small Mizythras”, two peaks of rough limestone jutting above the pristine blue skein of the sea. With minimal tourist traffic, the Cliffs of Keri are perfect for a breather as you enjoy the gentle breeze by the ocean tickling your skin.

A must see at the cliffs is the Keri Lighthouse which first went into operation in 1925. The 7.5m tower serves as the perfect vantage point as the sun slips past the horizon to paint the stark white limestone in shades of bright orange and yellow. For the slightly more adventurous, small paths beyond the lighthouse are said to lead to rock outcroppings and natural terraces on the cliff wall for you to enjoy the breathtaking view. You’ll be sure to walk away from the Cliffs of Keri with the image of the last rays of sunlight dancing across the softly murmuring oceans.

Tips Before You Go
While relaxing by the lighthouse, you’re likely to spot the largest Greek flag in the world as recorded by the Guinness Book of world records. Weighing 80 kilos and at 670 sq. m., it’s rather impressive as seen dancing in the wind from the cliff’s ridged top.
