No ordinary park, this park plays host to a zoo, museum and more!
Formerly called ox meadow, this is the largest park in Budapest, amassing 302 acres. This is no ordinary park as it houses more than what you’d often expect. Vidám Park and Zoo can be found here, a small yet absolutely cosy park cum zoo, you are sure to enjoy yourself! Young ones can have a blast at the child-friendly attractions of Vidám Park such as the iconic merry-go-round built in the early 20th century.
Check out the stunning, jaw-dropping monuments, dedicated to the liberation of the Hungarians against the Soviets. A stunning wedge-shaped monument made out of rusty iron beams, this is stunning by itself, but especially so as the sun begins to set. Golden rays of sunlight shine down on the monument, as it reflects and deflects the rays, appearing almost like a valiant knight coming out from battle! There is even a stunning castle, emanating an eerie yet mystical atmosphere. Originally made out of mere cardboard and wood, its popularity slowly gained traction, revamped and eventually returning as a warrior made of brick. A truly wonderful park, there’s something for everyone here! Come down and discover it for yourself as you are immersed in a world, away from the buzz of city life.
