Knowledge, culture and entertainment collide at this spectacular museum complex celebrating the wondrous world around us. The futuristic buildings, each of them masterpieces of modern architecture, stand on the drained riverbed where the River Turia once flowed before it was diverted. Inside the sleek, shining structures, you can find everything from performing arts theatres to interactive science exhibits, aquariums to planetariums, and much more.

You’ll never run out of things to see and do at Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences, but one of its biggest highlights is undoubtedly the Oceonografic. Europe’s biggest aquarium, it houses an impressive 500 different species of sea creatures, including everyone’s favourite dolphins, sea lions and sharks. If you’ve got curious children, then a visit to the Principe Felipe Science Museum, where touching and playing with the exhibits is allowed and even encouraged, is a must. At the end of the day, rest your tired feet at the Hemisferic and enjoy a film or documentary on its 900-metre square, 3D screen.
