Revealing a gothic exterior, this church is definitely not something you’d like to miss. Built in the 14th century, lasting all the way till the 16th century, this church has undergone plenty of work, even being revamped a century later. The church’s 80-metre-tall towers are topped off with four small spires, representative of its predominant Gothic exterior.
Whilst it boasts a predominantly Gothic exterior, as you venture in, you will be shocked at the amount of Baroque influenced design dripping from every inch of the building. Housing the oldest organ in Prague, its age far surpasses many, belonging to the year 1673! Boasting great acoustics, it’s no wonder that many have sought to use the church as a concert venue. Be amazed as you continue your journey here, featuring the grand centrepiece of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary. Featuring other stunning masterpieces, altar paintings by Karel Škréta - the great portrait artist, and tomb of a great astronomer and alchemist – Tycho Brahe can be found here.
