Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge (程阳永济桥)

A well-weathered bridge.

The Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge is located in the remote village of Chengyang, about four and a half hours away from Guilin, the nearest major city. The bridge takes on an interesting shape, with a covered walkway, topped with five pagodas. It is made mainly out of wood, without the use of nails or rivets and its sturdiness is a testament to the craftsmanship of the native Dong people. There are often women selling souvenirs on the bridge, and there is a one-time entrance fee (which includes a free cup of tea!) before you enter the village.
