Blink and you’ll miss it! Witnessing the incredible grace and speed of the spotted cheetah up close is an unsurpassable experience.
Strong, fast, elegant, beautiful – no animal encapsulates these qualities better than the spotted cheetah. The colour markings on its face strikingly resemble tear tracks, and indeed it would be no surprise that the cheetah is weeping for the fate of its species. Cheetahs are quickly edging dangerously closer to extinction, with only 6.600 left in the wild.
Here at Cheetah Outreach, the organization is aiming to raise awareness about the critically endangered situation of this unique animal. Entrance is completely free, but for even more up close encounters you can pay to meet adult cheetah’s and the cubs, subject to availability. Apart from this, there’s even the chance to meet bat-eared foxes and meerkats. A free guided tour of the facility will show you everything there is to see, and enrichment programmes will teach you all there is to know about these incredible creatures that are an integral part of our planet and its diversity.
